Arrive Lima - Guided Tour of Colonial and Modern Lima
Arrive Lima – Capital of Peru. Continue your exploration of South America, as you arrive into the capital city of Lima in Peru. Later, embark on a guided city tour to visit the colonial and modern parts of Lima, known as The City of Kings, starting at the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro, and passing along a “huaca” or sacred pre-Inca site, before heading to the Historic Center. There, you will walk along some of the important historical streets of the city, leading to the Plaza de Armas, where you will have some time to take pictures of the amazing colonial architecture that surrounds it. Enjoy a local lunch. Then you will visit the impressive Convent of Santo Domingo, an astonishing building with colonial style. After exploring the Historical Center, you will head towards modern Miraflores to make a stop at the Parque del Amor, from where you can take beautiful photographs of the Lima Bay area.

After a buffet breakfast, check-out and visit the Larco Museum; one of the most complete museums in Latin America, where the unsurpassed collections of Treasures of Ancient Peru are housed. This impressive collection inspires its visitors, making them discover, understand and enjoy through more than 45,000 pieces, covering over 5000 years history of Ancient Peru. Also see the most striking ceramic pieces from the Mochica culture, which due to its particular characteristics is known as “erotic pottery”. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Cusco, Peru. Enjoy a light local lunch. On arrival in Cusco, transfer to your hotel and relax. Today you will acclimatise yourself to the high-altitude environs of Cusco.

After a buffet breakfast, you will be transferred from Cusco to the Ollantaytambo station to board the Vistadome train to Aguas Calientes. From here, start the drive towards Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Modern Wonders of the World. Visit the archaeological site for an unforgettable experience, with a local tour guide who will impart to you all the history that surrounds this mysterious and enchanting place.Enjoy a local lunch. Later, return to Aguas Calientes to board the train to Ollantaytambo station. Drive back to Cusco.

After a buffet breakfast, begin your tour with a visit to the iconic San Pedro market, a local market where you can explore the colors, flavors and traditions of modern Cusco, a beautiful colonial city that was built upon the remains of the pre-historic Inca buildings. Enjoy a local lunch. Later, explore Cusco, known as the Imperial City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Coricancha Temple, an ancient Inca palace and centre of worship of the Sun God, above which the Order of the Dominicans built a church, which remains standing to this day. You will continue ascending to the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, an impressive example of Inca military architecture. Afterwards, you will explore Q’enqo archeological site, where important Inca ceremonies took place. Finally, you will arrive to the Plaza de Armas (main square), where you will visit the Cusco Cathedral, the most important religious building in the city.
